Dr. Cynthia promotes psychological well-being and teaches core mental skills so that her clients can perform at their best when it matters most. As a Sport & Performance Psychology Consultant, Dr. Cynthia collaborates with her clients to design a personalized program to enhance their performance. After becoming fully engaged in the plan and approach, both the client and consultant share the responsibility for outcomes and success.
Dr. Cynthia works with various levels of athletes to include, collegiate, professional, recreational and fitness. In addition she works with performing artists, musicians, and business leaders.

Meet Dr. Cynthia Clarke
Dr. Cynthia L. Clarke is a Sports & Performance Psychology Consultant and owner/founder of Clarke Pure Performance Training in Los Angeles, CA.
She is the Department Chair of General Education at AMDA College and Conservatory of the Performing Arts. She has been teaching Performance Psychology and Health & Wellness classes for 10 years.
She is also a Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) and has been an active member of the Association for Applied Sports Psychology (AASP) for the past 10 years. She is also a member of the American Psychological Association; Sport and Exercise Division 47.
Further, Dr. Cynthia has a Doctorate degree in Counseling Psychology and Master of Arts in Sport and Exercise Psychology from Argosy University, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the California State University of Northridge.
She is also a Certified Professional Personal Trainer with the American Council of Exercise with over 30 years of experience working in the health and fitness industry, with individuals and group fitness clients. Her fitness and athletic specializations include athletic conditioning, weight loss, marathon running, track and field, softball, volleyball, basketball, and various other sports.
Dr. Cynthia specializes in providing psychological skills training for optimal performance. Primarily, her method is bridging sports science and psychological enhancement techniques for mental and physical skill development. This allows her to provide a customized approach in mental preparation to enhance peak performance for her clients. Her specialization is to improve performance through mental skills. She also provides one-on-one coaching sessions with her clients aside from training seminars.
Dr. Cynthia’s clients vary from elite professional, collegiate, and high school individuals with performance-related issues.
Dr. Cynthia has over 12 years of experience in providing mental skills training to athletes and performers. She has provided services as the Sport Psychology Consultant for the Whittier College Ladies Volleyball and Track and Field Team from 2010-2012.
In 2017, Dr. Cynthia was awarded a grant through Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP) to facilitate and provide mental skills training for an 8-week Summer Youth Basketball Camp through the Drew League Foundation. She has presented at the 2019 Annual National Strength and Conditioning Association Conference (NSCA) on the impact of mental skills training for prevention of athlete’s burnout.
